I went to Heaven three times this weekend.
On our way up to Maine for the weekend wedding of Liz and Giuliano, Jordan (read: his account of this trip is rather different) and I stopped and stayed in the sleepy, misty, seaside town of Mystic, CT. We chilled, had some amazing lobster, Mystic Pizza (couldn't resist) and heavenly home-made ice cream from the Mystic Creamery. Yum!
Next, we literally went to Heaven at Liz and Giuliano's wedding--Which took place in a remote, pristine corner of Casco, (Oxford) ME that was actually called "Heaven." Indeed it was. We spent a good amount of time at Seeds of Peace, sleeping in, sitting by Pleasant Lake, eating the best soft shell lobster, fresh fish and steamers.
I will wait to feature a picture of Liz in her wedding dress until I get clearance from her. She looked like a beautiful, bohemian, Grecian goddess. We had an amazing time at the wedding and the entire weekend was absolutely "Liz," from the organic, local cuisine to the homage to Jamaica. Just unbelievable--I think that every guest really experienced her love of wonderful food throughout the weekend. She has a true talent when it comes to food and I'm so honored and proud to work with her and so excited for our upcoming Lithe Escape.
Not to sound cheesy, but it was one of those rare weddings where you could literally feel the love and excitement all weekend and it was great to spend some time with other Lithers and friends in a vacation setting.
On our way back to Philly, we stopped and spent the evening in Newport, Rhode Island where we took a heavenly sunset island cruise on a 70 ft. schooner, met new friends, sipped champagne, ate more lobster, clam chowder and drove out on the famous Ocean Drive this morning.
Ahhhh...Nothing like a a late summer trip to New England, a beautiful wedding, Sailing and a very much needed break!
