As many of you know, Lithe Method is focusing on growing in all the right ways and we're always putting our best foot forward. The Lithe Method Liberties Walk studio lease is up, and rather than renewing at our current space at this time, I have chosen not to renew. The Liberties Walk studio will close on November 30, 2009 (in 47 days).
As many of you know, the Liberties Walk studio was my first studio and to my delight we have outgrown the space. I love the neighborhood (I'm a Fishtowner'), I love what it stands for, I love the people and I look forward to spreading the Lithe in the right studio space that suits our needs.
We will be considering other opportunities in the Fishtown area and in other areas as well, always with our eyes on expanding Lithe within the vision of what we are and what we stand for.
We are not closing the doors on you. You still have 47 days to use your current class cards at Liberties Walk. And we will add a few 7pm's back on the schedule in November so that you can get all the Lithing in that you possibly can before the holidays! Come in and see us!
Your remaining, non-expired class cards are good at our Rittenhouse and Ardmore locations and at all future location(s) with no expiration. If you feel that you cannot or will not ever attend classes in center city or any other future location, we will be happy to reimburse you for your remaining classes.
With that said, remember that Rittenhouse is not far (7 min on the El) and there is easy street parking on South/Bainbridge.
Thank you for your business and all of your love and support over the last few years! I'm truly excited to find the most perfect, future "Lithe North" location!

Nooooo way, not a break up : ) Think of it as a new beginning-Possibly in a better, bigger fantastic space!

This makes me sad! Please, please, please stay in No libs. Rittenhouse is great but still not the first choice for all of us Liberties, Old City, Queen Village girls. As someone who has a long commute to work everyday, the thought of driving around Rittenhouse looking for parking, or paying for a lot for 1.5 hours makes me want to steer clear. It can get frustrating and expensive especially when you go to classes 3-4 days a week. At Northern Liberties I look forward to parking at home and being able to walk to class in the evening.
I'm sorry to say, this was the worst news I heard all week. I love lithe and the No. Libs location. I hope you'll find a new spot near by soon. With so many new apartments, restaurants and shops its hard to believe a studio like Lithe wouldn't grow even more.

This is bad news for us northern folks, how depressing. I hope you find a new location soon! Make room in the 'just after work' classes at Rittenhouse for us :)

NOOO!!!! Please find another spot in the area!!! Pleeeease?!
In all seriousness, congratulations on your growing success with Lithe! After 4 1/2 years now, I totally rely on the workout to kick my ass i& keep it in shape!!! As you know, there is really nothing like it! I know RH is not far, but its just not feasible sometimes for me to make the trip over there :(
I will make do I guess, but I really hope you decide to find another studio in the neighborhood somewhere!

Live from Jamaica: I'm listening, I hear you guys for sure, and I understand and feel your pain but our small, albeit sentimental space at Liberties Walk has never been ideal (even when it was two spaces) for what we do and I refuse to sign on and give my long-time clients a moderate experience for two more years. I am not being an elitist nor am I snubbing anyone. Please don't take it personally. I sincerely want to give all of you the best experience possible and it's just not feasible at Liberties Walk. I understand that Rittenhouse is a temporary inconvenience for some of you, but imagine a future, better space (like Rittenhouse) at Lithe North-Room to move, a seating and lounge area to chill and chat before and after class, showers, more of a community and more teachers, classes and options-All that Lithe should be. After November 30th (for those of you who can), we would love to see you in center city, I think that you'll all be really pleasantly surprised at how NOT that far off the beaten track it is. We will be adding on more classes during the week and weekend to open space up for our Lithe Nolibs expats : ) We're looking forward to it! Please join us if you can!

Aw, that's where it all began for us. So many good memories there. I will miss it terribly too!

Lauren,
How about scheduling Waist Not at 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays or Sundays in Rittenhouse for those of us who love that class in Northern Liberties? That would make the closing of Northern Liberties a tad less painful...

Hey Ellen! Yep, don't worry-most highly attended Lib walk classes will be transferred to our Rittenhouse location.

Hi Lauren,
congratulations on your continued success and growth. Not sure how you come up with more and intersting combinations and area-specific exercises but I love it.
I truly enjoy the several classes I have tried to make a habit of attending in Northern Liberties. it's such a great area -from parking options, the Plaza and the great little coffee shop - it's been a wonderful alternate to Rittenhouse. Actually, I took my first immersion class at Liberties Walk.
Any event, everything has to move forward and sometimes that means changes - and change is good. I do hope you find another Northern Liberties location - in the meantime, please consider keeping the Saturday, 8:30 AM Waist Not and Monday, 6 PM Super Fly on the schedule. I have seen both classes grow from a few to a waiting list. Carla, as are all instructors, is superb and I have come to make those staples in my weekly regime.
Lauren, your energy and creativity are amazing - as I approach my first anniversary as a Lither, I want to tell you thank you for a life and lifestyle altering experience.
