Between Halloween, the World Series and Thanksgiving many of us are staying up late, eating things that are less than good for us and starting that all too common fall trend of excess that puts about 8-10 lbs on your frame come January. Watch those late nights and weekly parties! Here are some tips:
Make Produce a priority! have fruits and veggies with every meal and eat them first-You'll eat less of the bad stuff.
Adopt a mantra: Mine is, "I'm stronger than ever."
Choose smart foods: I recently gave up dairy (for good) and I've never felt or looked better.
Eat the frog!: Workout in the morning so that your PM's are free for partying.
Commit: To yourself and get to class!

I have been thinking about trying to give up dairy for some time and was wondering if you have found any good substitutes for cheese. It is the one thing I can't imagine giving up!

I second the request above - I find that most dairy substitutes don't cut it for me. I'm a vegetarian that has been trying to give up most dairy lately but I feel that unless I find tasty substitutes for cheese, I'll struggle...

One word: Daiya! You can find it online at daiyafoods.com and veganstore.com. It's new for 2009 and people are literally freaking out about what an amazing cheese substitute it is.
I've been dairy-free for a month now, and have been amazed with the results -- weight loss, clear skin, more energy, the list goes on. Dairy used to be my fave food group, but I've decided that nothing tastes as good as healthy feels. (Also? Coconut Bliss "ice cream" is better than the real thing, I swear.)
