We've had a change in latitude. As you may have heard, our Spring flights to Grenada were unexpectedly and permanently canceled by Air Jamaica. With no easy way to get to Grenada, we were left with no other option but to find another location. Sure, we're sad about the cancellation, but we're thrilled to tell you about our Lithe Escape "plan B."
With bubbling excitement, Liz and I would like to share with you our just-finalized alternative Spring Lithe Escape location...The GORGEOUS Hibiscus Hill House (the Guest House & The Cricket Pavilion) on Harbour Island, Bahamas. Hibiscus Hill is the cluster of private Caribbean homes owned and designed by the enchanting India Hicks.
I could go on and on about India...Barefoot, buttoned down, ex-model turned mother of 4, turned celebrated interior designer turned...(more at www.indiahicks.com). I love reading about her life in the Bahamas, her cute kids, and her creative inspiration. India and her husband recently opened their bohemian, chic, and utterly breathtaking homes up to the public. Liz and I have been waiting patiently for these homes to come on the market as rentals for almost five years now...Lucky US! I've spent some time in Harbour Island a few years back and it is breathtakingly beautiful, charming, friendly and perfect for our Escape.
Beach lover? Known as the Nantucket of the Caribbean, Harbour Island beach was featured in The Travel Channel's “World's Best Beaches” segment in March 2005. Named “Best Sand Beach,” Harbour Island was one of 10 beaches worldwide to be included in this program. Our setting at Hibiscus Hill will be a 'stone's throw' to two whole miles of uninterrupted PINK sand beaches, a three minute walk to town where charming traditional cottages, stylish shops, and local produce is for sale. Oh, and PS, no cars allowed on the island. Just sand and a few golf carts throughout.
The dates will remain the same: May 7th-May 14th, 2011. This is an intimate Escape...We have sold 6 spots, so there are only 4 spots left at $2,700 per person. As usual, we'll use our surroundings and Lithe outdoors on the airy veranda of the Cricket Pavilion, on land and in the sparkling blue sea (Yes, we will be doing our Lithe Tri and ocean swims!). You'll eat three family-style Lithe Escape meals a day (think local seafood and fresh veggies) designed by Liz Solms and cooked by our in-house Bahamian chef.
