25 THINGS {BY SAYEH}! 11 Apr 2012

 

Jackie Freund (pronounced Friend) is one of a few friendly and familiar faces you may encounter when signing in for class. Not only does she help you get your Lithe Foods fix or hand you your locker key, she wears red lipstick like no one else I’ve ever met. WIth a chic side bun and a cool flowy outfit, she radiates calm and welcoming approachability, but I bet you’ll never guess how old she is or what happened when she met her ex-boyfriend’s girlfriend from the first grade. Read on to find out and learn much more in this edition of 25 Things!

1. I was born on 7/11, weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces at 11:07am. Despite that, I don't consider myself a lucky person.
2. I think I am pretty funny. In fact, I often crack up at my own stupid jokes.
3. I can name 2 people to corroborate #2. My daughters Klementine, 6 and Lucy, 4.
4. I am a huge music buff. If you ever need a music expert for Quizzo, give me a call.
5. I have been to literally 100s of concerts. Many before the age of 10. I have super cool parents; they took me everywhere with them. My first was Tony Orlando & Dawn at age 3.
6. I am obsessed with David Bowie. I have seen him every time he's been to Philadelphia since 1984.
7. I LOVE yellow. Anything yellow. Especially, lemons. Wish I could smell like one all the time.  Despite this, not one room in my house is painted yellow, but I'm working on that!
8. For my age (turning 40 this 7/11), I think I have pretty good skin. I have worked for the best skincare companies in the world, Lancome, Estee Lauder and Kiehl's. But I credit it to washing my face with Head & Shoulders shampoo since I was 16. It's a long story, but it works. Stop by the desk, and I'll give you my secret!  
9. I love Wes Anderson movies. In fact, Rushmore is my favorite movie. I once met Jason Schwartzman and carried on like most women would if they met George Clooney.
10. Did I mention I was a dork?
11. I am very fidgety. You will often see me fidgeting with a pen, tape measure, whatever's laying around. At home, I satisfy this with knitting. But, I do not know how to knit and have never made anything beyond a 4 inch square. Someday, I'll make that blanket!
12. I love to nap. I try to fit one in everyday. In fact, I just woke up from one.
13. I am a night owl. No matter how exhausted I am, I get a second wind around 10pm and could easily stay up till 2am. Probably why I nap so much:)
14. I'm a chatterbox. Don't need to elaborate. It's obvious!
15. I have a lot of acquaintances, but only a handful of good friends. I'm picky. But, all of my best friends, I have known for many, many years, and I am fiercely loyal.
16. I am an open book. Ask me anything, I'll answer it. Probably with too much detail and honesty. If you don't want to know, don't ask me.
17. I once had a cat that I named after my ex-boyfriend's girlfriend from 1st grade (her name is Maybo Fung, so cute). I met the real Maybo Fung at a party about 10 years ago, she was not amused.  My poor Maybo (the cat) passed last December after 15 great years.
18. I do not allow ketchup in my house.  Not because it's bad for you, but because I think it's disgusting.
19. Not a big fan of feet. Never have been. I'm happy to wear boots all year round.  My mom thinks it's hysterical that I work somewhere, where everyone walks around barefoot.
20. I came to Lithe about a year ago. I met Ross at a party (for my best friend), and he asked if I would like to join the team. I haven't looked back! Thanks, Lauren for taking me on.
21. My boyfriend, Mike, is a photographer. We have been together for 9 years, have 2 beautiful children. But, you would never know that, because we don't have any pictures of them. Thanks, Mike.
22. I change my hair often. And, dramatically. My hair has been long and brown for a record 10 months now.  Don't be surprised if you see a new platinum blonde with a pixie haircut (think Rosemary's Baby, my favorite) behind the desk soon. It's me!
23. I don't dance. If you see me dancing, take the drink out of my hand and put me in a cab. It's time to send me home.
24. I have never lived anywhere besides Philadelphia, but would love to! I once considered moving to Holland, but decided it was too far from my mom. Glad I didn't, as I started dating Mike shortly after and had the 2 loves of my life!
25. I LOVE the Phillies! I was at the 1980s World Series game when they won. I can still name the entire team. Here's to another winning year!

Who else is shocked that Jackie is almost 40?? And who else is already on their way to CVS to buy Head and Shoulders shampoo? Other things I can’t imagine? Jackie with a blond pixie cut! I’m so jealous whenever someone is able to be so bold with their hair. After a few botched ‘dos, I’m such a freak about haircuts. You would think that my hair was actually little wires connected to a bomb. Clip the wrong ones...and my head will explode! The poor stylist, hands shaking...beads of sweat forming on her brow...looks away and winces with every snip. We’re going to need Mike to provide us with some pictures of your various looks, Jackie. Until then, thank you for always being so nice and accommodating of all of us Lithers and our bare feet!

Jackie is one of my favorite people at Lithe! She's awesome, and she can talk politics like a pro. And I pegged her at mid-20s when I first met her. I need her skincare regimen!
