GOAL OF THE WEEK! 17 Sep 2012
You're probably used to hearing your instructors reminding you to not let your belly "pop" (relaxing your abdominal muscles) during class. This week's goal is to be super mindful of that. It's a bit easy to forget about keeping our abs pulled in when we are working it on the bands or at the barre doing the parts of our workout that we perceive to be less focused on our abs. The truth is, we use those core muscles in most of what we do (hello breathing!). When lifting your leg up into Liberty position and tucking, is not just leg and glute work, it's ab work too! Focus on your breathing (ribs open laterally and then "knit" back together) and keep your abs pulled in throughout to make sure you are getting the most from your workout.
