Almonds are one of my favorite snacks. If you like almonds you'll love this recipe. The recipe yields softer almonds which are easier to digest. Soaking almonds also enables the almond to shed it's skin and release it's enzymes and increases the amount of nutrients your body can absorb from the nut. Make a big batch:
Ingredients: Raw or blanched almonds, tamari and cayenne (optional)
Directions: Soak 1lb of raw almonds for 2-4 hours, peel shell (it's kinda fun, they pop right off), soak in tamari for 6-12 hours (I soak overnight), then bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes until that amazingly nutty aroma wafts out of your oven.
