DEAR LITHE {LOVE LETTERS} 9 Nov 2012

Love letters
Dear Lithe,

I’ve just finished my last Lithe 10 class, and need to officially proclaim my love for everything Lithe, from classes to foods to blogs. After Lithe 10, I am stronger, down 7 inches, and much more aware of healthy eating habits. Most importantly, I feel lithe and fabulous!

Back in July, my friends and I put ourselves on our own fitness contest (a la Google docs) to get our health and bodies in line. I lost a few pounds, but knew I could do more. Lithe 10 was the uphill challenge I really needed.

The FitHipHealthy motto has progressively become my own since I started lithing in Spring 2011. I gradually increased my weekly class intake, started trying Lithe Foods, and now make more lithe decisions from snacks to biking to the studios. I think it's time for a Body Booster!

A few years ago, I would never have listed physical exercise as a hobby or bought tofu, but Lithe brought everything together for me with the FitHipHealthy brand and I enjoy everything about it. I read the blog daily and also respect Lithe as a business. I aspire to be a successful entrepreneur like you Lauren!

Thank you, Lithe, for being fun, versatile and effective. My life in Philadelphia would not be the same without you.

Love,

Alysea

THREE SPOTS LEFT! 3 Oct 2012

Screen Shot 2012-10-03 at 11.03.39 AM

Thinking about taking the plunge into the Lithe "10" next week?  We have 3 spots left!  I'm sad to say that this will most likely be the last Lithe "10" that we'll be holding for at least a year, since I'll be splitting my time between Philly and NYC soon.  Check out the STATS above from our July "10" where 8 women lost 47.5 inches!  There were a few ladies that missed the last class and their final measurements (see above) aren't shown, but we usually hit a 50-55" total loss of inches and a total loss of 30 lbs, and a lot of confidence AND strength gained!

Interested? Sign up closes at 5PM on Thursday (that's when we have to get our Detox orders in!) Call our Old City Studio: 215-625-4919 or email us info@lithemethod.com

LITHE 10! 24 Sep 2012

lithe 10

Here's to achieving your best you right before the decadence of the holiday season is upon us with its hoardes of family members, cocktail dresses, and office parties. It's time for the fall edition of our "10"! Just like our incredibly successful summer edition, you can expect killer extended classes and a Lithe Foods component to really give you the results you're looking for (read our philosophy).

Our Lithe "10" is a one-month, ten (75 minute per class) class Lithe program capped at 12 people taught by select staff beginning October 9th. How do you know if  "10" is for you?  Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do you need a kick-start?
  • Have you been in a bad food, no Lithe state of mind?
  • Are you looking for a total lifestyle change?
  • Do you need a little extra help?
  • Do you want to become stronger?
If you're nodding your head as you read, and feel ready to meet the changing of the seasons with a change of lifestyle and body, we're here to help. During our most recent pre-summer "10," 8 women lost a combined total of 47.5 inches! That's an average of almost 6 inches lost per Lither!

Our program is complete with one, three-day Fall/Winter Seasonal Detox Plan ($225 value) followed by a fantastic, flab-fighting Lithe meal plan for you to do at home for the remainder of the month. As I always say, only 15% of changing your body happens in the studio, the remaining 85% is what we put into our bodies.

Confused? Here's the breakdown:

Lithe 10 is a series of 10 classes over 4 weeks, with a meal plan/nutrition element.  It consists of:

  • 10 classes, all of which are 75 minutes long (instead of 60), taught by selected staff. These classes are specially designed for you.
  • A three-day Fall/Winter Seasonal Detox Plan to kick off the program
  • A Lithe meal plan/menu for the remainder of the 4 weeks (it's a 1,500-1,700 calorie a day menu designed by Lauren Boggi, founder of Lithe Method. You purchase the ingredients and make meals at home for yourself).
Ten 75 minute classes, 1 Lithe Detox Plan ($225) and 4 weeks of menus = $550.

Below are our set dates (much like the Immersion course). They will all take place at the Old City studio:

  1. Tuesday, October 9 (7:00pm)
  2. Thursday, October 11 (7:00pm)
  3. Tuesday, October 16 (7:00pm)
  4. Thursday, October 18 (7:00pm)
  5. Saturday, October 20 (11:00am)
  6. Tuesday, October 23 (7:00pm)
  7. Thursday, October 25 (7:00pm)
  8. Tuesday, October 30 (7:00pm)
  9. Thursday, November 1 (7:00pm)
  10. Saturday, November 3 (11:00am)
Lithers must pre-pay/pre-enroll in the "10" by calling any Lithe Studio.  Unfortunately, you will not be able to use existing class cards/unlimited monthly or "drop in" to Lithe "10" classes at a class card rate.

Here are the lovely ladies of the June Lithe "10" after their last class.  They enjoyed the program (and each other) so much that they requested a group picture.  I loved offering the program again and their results (mind and body) are staggering.  Stay tuned for the full report next week!

DEAR LITHE {LOVE LETTERS}. 1 Oct 2010

Dearlithe

Hi Lauren,
I just wanted to thank you and everyone at Lithe.  I can hardly believe that I just passed my one-year mark!  I remember huffing and puffing through my first Immersion class and wondering how on Earth I was ever going to make it through.  Now here I am, attending 5-6 classes a week, so much stronger and, well, lither :)  A day doesn't go by that I don't look in the mirror and marvel at my body.  I finally got my chiseled Madonna arms and that Kim Kardashian booty I was worried about developing last year has given way to a much smaller (and higher) Lithe booty.  I love watching the transformations of other Lithers, too.  Truly amazing.  Here's to many more years of Lithe successes.  Lithe rocks!  AS

Hey Lauren,
I've lost 25 lbs since starting the June Lithe "10;" about 12 lbs while in the "10," then the rest after. I continued to follow your meal plan and Lithed about 2-3 times per week and walked at least 3 miles per day (thank goodness for my dog!). The meal plan was probably easier for me than most because I'm a pescatarian. The lemon water definitely helped curb  my mid-day hunger. The "10 "really helped me kick-start my wedding get-in-shape goal! Thank you again!  KM

Hey Lauren/Lithe Team -
Just wanted to say a big thanks to all of you for being so great and helping me through a horrible situation. Last year around this time I tore a my gluteus medius, rendering me totally immobile and in tons of pain for a couple of months. As someone addicted to moving, I didnt take it very well. After tons of physical therapy I was told by my doctor that I would probably not be able to run long distances or do triathlons (some of my favorite summer activities) ever again. I started Lithe in immersion in January, and was addicted immediately.

I took things pretty slow initially, but right away I could feel my body and muscles strengthening and stretching in all the right ways. Balancing Lithe with training for my tri starting in March, I was able to really get back on my feet with all the additional core strength and flexibility I gained.  Im happy to say that not only was I able to race again last weekend at the Philadelphia Olympic Distance Triathlon, but, that I smashed my pre-injury time!!!  So thanks for getting me back on my feet, and giving me the strength I needed to return to my favorite sport. You guys are really life-savers, I couldnt imagine my life without lithe! Im heading back to the studio tonight after a 1.5 month hiatus I took to focus on tri-training , and couldnt be more excited!  LM

Hi Lauren,
I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know some of my results from Lithe.  I've only been to Lithe 13 times (only once a week).  After about a week or two, my boyfriend said that my butt went from soft and squishy to nice and hard.  I've also noticed that my legs (esp. my upper thighs) look more slender and I went down both a shirt and a skirt size.  So, I was a 0 at Express and now im a 00.  I'm sort of annoyed that I have to buy new suits b/c they don't ft right, but its better than having to buy new suits because they're all too small!  CK

APRIL "10" 6 May 2010

Thinking about joining the June "10?"  We had an amazing April "10" group and they have written some great feedback:

"Thanks for the mean plan!  I am loving "10" thus far and I am sure that my feelings will not change.  I had stopped Lithing back in October, when the Northern Libs studio was going to close and joined a gym.  I did classes for 6 months and was very unhappy, nothing compared to Lithing! After gaining 10 pounds (the holiday's were not kind) and feeling completely miserable, I broke my contract with the gym and returned to Lithing at the beginning of March.  The "10" was exactly what I needed to get back into my Lithe shape.  One of the best things about "10" is getting a try all the different type of classes that are offered at Lithe.  I can't say enough about the meal plan.  I never really incorporated Tofu into my diet, and now I love it.  The meal plan is really easy to put together, which is perfect for my "on the go" life.  I am not hungry and eating more vegetables then ever before." L

"So far, Lithe "10" has been amazing.  Do I look like I did back in '08?  Not quite.  Either the classes were "easier" then, or I was just a lot stronger, because it's been taking much more effort than I remember.  Two kids have wreaked havoc on my abs and energy level, but I am slowly but surely getting stronger.  And what a difference these two weeks have made on my running!  I can power through an 8-mile run and my quads don't feel quite as fatigued as they used to.  I also run "taller", if that makes sense.  And I think I'm getting faster...just in time for Broad Street!   The meal plan has been great. Easy to follow and tasty.  My husband even looked at it and said, "I would eat this stuff".  It has helped me cut out a lot of my snacking tendencies, and stay focused on foods that are going to fill me up and get me to the next meal." M

"Two words - spicy lemonade.  Obsessed.  Part of my daily routine now.  Must find spot on my balcony to grow a lemon tree...  I love, love, love 10!  It was exactly what I needed to kick-start the spring.  I'd fallen off the lithe-wagon about 3-4 weeks before 10 started, and I've never been a healthy eater.  In all honesty, I had to google how to boil an egg when you sent the first week meal plan.  So, that said, I started this process ready to see some results!  That said, I have followed the meal plan (almost) religiously and I cannot believe the difference in how I feel.  I'm also thoroughly pleased about the money I am saving not eating out for lunch (at least) five days a week and for dinner at least 3-4.  I didn't have much weight to lose (I'm about 5'6'', 120lbs) but I notice some serious changes in my body.  I sent you a question about cellulite a few months back and although it's not completely gone, I notice a major difference in how my legs look. Thank you, thank you, thank you for lithe and for 10...I really feel like this could be a permanent change in how I treat my body." K

"Considering this is my third "10" there should be no doubt that I absolutely love the program.  This time I'm being more disciplined about sticking with the eating plan.  I think the plan offers a lot of choices and I really love the Ezekiel bread.  Its fascinating and sort of creepy to see how long it lasts!  So far, I'm down about 3 pounds.  However, I probably don't represent the typical "10-er" because while I enjoy the benefits of weight loss, what has drawn me to the series is the intensity of the classes.

I don't think I really understood what it meant to "Lithe" until I did my first "10".  Prior to that, I was one of those people that would try to double up on classes (shame!), which meant I was clearly not giving my best effort in class.   The intensity of the "10" classes taught me how to correct my own form and while I hate to be cliche, but it awakened the mind-body connection during classes.  The "10" taught me how to "Lithe" with purpose.  I finally understood what it meant to do a sumo squat while engaging the core and making sure the butt is squeezing the dime! I knew something had clicked when I took regular classes between "10s" and noticed that the workout was much more intense because my focus was heightened.

I've definitely gotten stronger and I've used each "10" series to set new goals for myself--like getting through an entire series of seesaws in proper form or getting through all 30 lunges in stiletto.  I love a workout that makes me feel like I'm on the brink of passing out and also allows me to set tangible, personal goals.  Being a three-time "10-er" now, I finally understand what I need to bring to the workout to reap the wealth of benefits each experience provides.  Also, I loved the recent blog posts.  Krista was my first instructor during the Immersion and I remember one of my first thoughts was "I have to stick with this b/c I want those legs!  They're amazing!"  J
