FIT. HIP & HEALTHY. 11 Nov 2014

Did you attend Lithe Tour Philly? Last Saturday was fantastic. After teaching two killer classes, hanging out and chatting it up with many of you, I realized that over the past ten years I truly have fulfilled my mission.

My mission through Lithe is to inspire people to be fit, hip and healthy. This is the core of our company and what drives me every day. I live and breathe the concept through our philosophy which is my secret to having a healthy, happy, and inspired life.

My goal has never been to be just fit and healthy, but to also lead a hip and happy life, full of fun and purpose. And I want to inspire all of you to to live your best life, as well. I believe that many of you are! For me, Fit, Hip & Healthy is the driving force of everything that I do and it's a mantra that many of you have adopted in your own life.  Over the past six years (can you believe that the FHH blog is 6 years old!?) many people have asked me what it means to be Fit, Hip & Healthy.

It starts with Fit. Being fit is the core of Lithe. I move my body every day.

Next comes Hip. Hip means in the know. Hip does not refer to one specific quality, and what's considered hip is constantly changing.

And finally, Healthy. Being healthy through the food you eat, a positive mindset, and a healthy relationship with yourself is so important.

All people who Lithe are part of an amazing community that embraces a healthy lifestyle and want to influence others to think the same way. Today my goal is to continue to inspire all of you and spread our message far and wide. I hope that Lithe can become synonymous with active living on a global scale, so that all people can achieve and be their best selves.

I'm constantly searching for ways that I can do better and feel that it's my responsibility to ensure that Lithe lives up to your expectations. Every workout, food product, and piece of clothing is made to inspire you all to be fit, hip and healthy. At the end of the day, I too am a Lither; I create and design what motivates me to be fit, hip, and healthy and I love inspiring you to do the same!

Love Letter

Hi Lauren,

I still feel the magic of yesterday's Lithe Tour Philly celebrating ten years of Lithe. With 200+ people in the studio glowing from "All That," live DJ beats bumping wall-to-wall, and cocktails flowing, there was a special energy that I'll never forget.

Congratulations to you for creating an addictive workout that is its own category in the fitness world. I admire how your Pilates studio organically evolved into a method all of its own: CCS using the higher power band system. Your variety of choreography and props makes intense cardio FUN and the class rotations make plateauing impossible. I simply LOVE Lithing. The value Lithe delivers also goes beyond the physical.
From an emotional perspective, you helped me and countless other clients "love the skin we're in." Nowhere else have I experienced such an open, purposeful celebration of body diversity. I remember your What the bulk? post from 2010 where you covered body phenotypes while expressing zero tolerance for critical remarks about clients' bodies in the studios. In all things Lithe, the message is clear: Be the best version of yourself and support/uplift each other (#bandtogether). I see consistent evidence of this ethos in the studios. I, as well as many fellow Lithers, take that message and feel its resonance throughout other areas of life.
Now about Lithe Tour Philly ... the new class "All That" really is ALL THAT, a thoroughly sweaty (!!!) ten-year retrospective mashup of CCS. I hope it shows up on mindbody very soon! DJ Muhammad curated an amazing playlist that was perfect for an intense cardio class. The 80-proof Art in the Age rhubarb liquor went down soooo smooth and the mixed drinks were the perfect post-CCS cocktails. I love my Duke & Winston tank!
My favorite part is the community. So many times all I have time for is a quick "hey" between classes, but it was a great time to chat at length over drinks and bangin' music. The icing on the cake was the special guest appearances by Jordan and Mars (who spontaneously demoed his own mashup of CCS for a circle of admirers! #powerhouse)
Thanks to Jill, Jonathan, Katie, Kristy, the Lithe Instructors, and the entire Lithe team for helping the event go so smoothly. I know that the smoother an event goes, the harder the work was behind the scenes. You guys rock!
Lauren, I raise my Bunny Mary to you as Lithe continues to achieve increasing success nationally and internationally in the years to come! Your positive impact is incalculable.

We're so excited for Lithe Tour Philly! Before you hit the studio, I want to reach out to all of you and talk about why we're supporting the Eagles Youth Partnership and how you can help. The EYP is such a great cause. One of the projects that really attracted us to them is the Eagles Eye Mobile

Since 1996, the Eagles Eye Mobile has worked to make comprehensive vision care accessible to under- and uninsured children in the Greater Philadelphia area. In Philadelphia alone, an estimated 60% of public school children (approximately 14,000 children) that fail their school nurse's state-mandated vision screening do not receive the vision care they need. The Eagles Eye Mobile offers these children eye exams, prescription eyeglasses, and follow-up care from an ophthalmologist, all at no cost to children or their families.

Suggested donation: $20. Every $10 you donate provides new books for four children through the Eagles Book Mobile program and every $30 you donate provides a new pair of prescription glasses for a child who needs them through the Eagles Eye Mobile program!
