Last week, Nicole told us about some of the things she typically packs when she jaunts overseas for BHLDN, Anthropologie's bridal and special occasion brand. This week, she tells us about a typical day of work while at London Fashion week.
8:30am- Quick breakfast/email catch up session in our hotel garden--Number Sixteen in South Kensington
10:00am- Trip to the Victoria & Albert museum, tour the British Ballgowns exhibit, as well as the amazing fashion archives.
12:00pm- Competitive store shopping around London, reviewing trends across all classes. Hot spots: Selfridges, Liberty, Dover Street Market.
2:30pm- Late lunch at Daylesford Organics in Notting Hill
4:00pm- Vintage shopping in Portobello Market…snag assorted china
7:00pm- Rush in to find our seats @ the Issa runway show. No Pippa or Kate sightings, sadly!
9pm- Cozy dinner at a quiet Italian restaurant, giving our feet a rest, and reviewing tomorrow’s busy appointment schedule (with a little complimentary champagne from the maitre’d :) Then off to bed!!
Lithe instructor, Nicole Sewall, has just returned from covering fashion week in both London and Paris to see the Spring 2013 collections (she's the co-managing director for BHLDN, Anthropologie's bridal and special occasion brand). Between darting to and from runway shows, working with designers on product, doing a bit of vintage shopping, and going to the latest gown exhibition at the Victoria & Albert museum, Nicole is always on the go-go-go when she travels for work. Aside from doing some tuck-squeezing in her hotel room (she says it helps her feel better about all the croissants and pain-au-chocolats she consumes in Paris), Nicole has a few must have travel essentials to share that help to keep her fresh and gorgeous while she's globetrotting.

Where has Lithe Instructor, Nicole Sewall been? Last month she was in Brazil and this month she has been globe trotting through Prague, Vienna, Budapest and London...For work. She just got back! Nicole is Merchandise Manager, Wedding for Anthropologie. Essentially, she is the buyer responsible for Anthro's yet to be named wedding brand. Yes, Anthropologie is launching a wedding brand in Spring 2011!
Nic tells us a few of her European favorites...Prague: Hopping one on the city bikes to take in the architecture and stopping for fresh ‘preclik’ Vienna: Snacking on amazing fresh produce at the Naschmarkt before some serious vintage shopping at Flo. (and finding the perfect vintage YSL blouse for myself!) Budapest: The Chain Bridge is beautiful during the day but even more amazing at sunset! London: Arriving early to Portobello Market to scoop up the best treasures. Checking at the latest at Dover Street Market. Treating ourselves to dinner at The Wapping Project … An old power plant that doubles as a restaurant, gallery and book store.

Hey guys, this is what I'm gifting and recommending this season...
For the adventure seeker: Jeff Divine's Surfing Photographs from the 1970's. For you're little sis: sparkly comme de garcon. For your coworkers: Personalized mementos from Anne Kiel. For the fashionista philanthropist: Stella McCartney designed tee for Gap's (Product) Red line. For the foodie/sweet tooth: Virginia Sin's sweet ceramic sugar cones & spicy cinnamon Capogiro gelato by mail. For the entertainer/mom: Anthropologie's Beast Feast Tureen...Complete with Claw feet! For myself: Pretty polka dots from French lingerie brand Princesse Tam Tam. For the in-laws: Colorful & cozy Donna Wilson throw. For the bookworm: Silkscreened eyeglass case.
We're talking about Jeggings. Not really a jean or a legging...it's a fusion--A Jegging! I've been wearing out and working out in my Jeggings from The Battalion for a while now. i love them! Lithe Instructor and Sr. Buyer for Anthropologie, Nicole Sewall writes:
Lauren, The Jegging is blog worthy! It’s been out there for a few months now and I never thought it would be a trend that would translate well to the premium market or even anything that I would be interested in wearing, but I’m totally hooked!
More flattering than a knit legging and way more comfortable than those super skinny jeans--You can actually eat a sandwich while wearing them! My favorites are the AG ‘Tight’+ JBrand Legging. Both are buttery soft, super flattering to the tuckus, and made with just enough poly to keep everything pulled in.
Both have a slighter shorter 30” inseam--Perfect with flats and tunic for summer or a cozy sweater and knee boots come fall.
AND both will be available at Anthropologie come September :)

Many of you know that Nicole is a buyer for Anthropologie. She scouts the fashion scene for a living (and for fun) and is always on tippy top of the latest and future trends. I asked her to report on what's currently hot for fitness/activewear and this is what we're currently loving...
Stella McCartney for Adidas drapy Jersey tops, Lululemon's ballet scoop tank and wonder under tights (in purple). American Apparel's Tri-Blend collection for scoop racer-back tanks and their new shiny elastic headbands that come in great colors. Don't forget to accessorize...Grab a Toy Watch in their ultra cool Jelly collection or Baby G in new neon brights.
